This is prepared to introduce learners to basic sentence constructions. It focuses on simple sentences.
Course Outline
Week 1: Meeting Somone
Exchanging pleasantries is the basic element of meeting someone for first time. Learners are therefore taken through various forms of greetings - morning, afternoon and evening greetings are addressed. Forms of response to greetings addressed. Occasional greetings are also highlighted and many more.
Week 2: Nouns | Pronouns | Articles
The learner is introduced to nouns that frequently appear in conversations and other statements. Background of the learner as a foreign national is also considered. Articles are introduced alongside in simple sentences.
Week 3: Simple Present Tense
Frequently used Verbs are introduced in this section. They are used in simple present tense to give commands; make request. Yes/no questions are handled in this session.
Week 4: Number and Numerals | Plurals
This session handles singular and plurals. Singular and Plural Nouns are used to construct simple present sentences. All sentences are constructed from practical point of view.
Week 5 and Week 6: Revision Assignments
Comprehensive practical assignments are given for accomplishment of the Course objectives.
Enrolment Requirements
The learner is expected to have taken the foundation course. The learner may have also acquired such skills elsewhere.
Target Audience
This course targets people who desire to be able to communicate in Twi Language either at home (Ghana) or abroad; that's for foreigners who have come or intend to stay in Ghana for whatever reason. It also Targets Ghanaians abroad who wants to speak Twi, the common language spoken in Ghana, fluently.
Mode of Delivery
This is a 100% online course. Lessons are delivered through Google Classroom. They are in the form of recorded videos. Study materials and other forms of assessment materials are also provided. Discussion forums and readily available to ease the learning process.
Medium of Instruction
The course is delivered in English Language with minimal blend of the few Twi vocabularies acquired.
Resources Required
This course basically requires three resources: computer (desktop, laptop, tablet, smartphone), availability of internet connection, commitment.
Duration
The course is expected to be completed within 6 weeks with total commitment of at least 6 hours per week. It is recommended that the learner spends at least 1 hour daily.
